Who we are
A shared vision, concrete commitments
VONIFANJA, Vondron'Olona ho amin'ny Nofy Iombonana, is a Malagasy association born from the wish to bring together people who share one ambition: to contribute to the human, social and economic progress of Madagascar.
Convinced that lasting change relies on community participation, the association seeks to encourage local initiatives, strengthen people's capacities and foster useful, responsible collaborations.
Its work follows a multi-sector approach that reflects the close links between education, health, the environment, human rights, economic development and local governance.
Our areas
Our main areas of work

Education, youth and citizenship
Access to knowledge opens up prospects. VONIFANJA wants to contribute to educational support, civic education and youth participation, so that everyone can develop their skills, understand their rights and duties, and take part in the life of their community.

Community health and well-being
Health underpins every other dimension of life. The association intends to promote prevention, health information and hygiene, alongside local actors, to help bring lasting improvements to the living conditions of families and communities.

Solidarity and social inclusion
Solidarity is at the heart of VONIFANJA. We want to encourage mutual aid, community mobilisation and support for people in vulnerable situations, with respect for their dignity, so that no one is left behind.

Rural and economic development
Economic independence is a condition of dignity. VONIFANJA wants to support local initiatives, entrepreneurship and capacity building, especially for women and young people, to foster sustainable economic activities rooted in their territories.

Environment and sustainable development
Madagascar's natural resources are an exceptional heritage and an essential livelihood. The association wants to contribute to environmental education, responsible resource management and community resilience in the face of change.

Human rights and local governance
In line with its statutes, VONIFANJA works on human rights education and support for local governance. It seeks to promote equality, the rights of women and children, citizen participation and accountability in managing community affairs.
In the field
Behind every initiative, people and stories
Acts of solidarity take on their full meaning when they respond to the realities communities live. Through its members' field experience and the initiatives it develops, VONIFANJA promotes an approach based on listening, closeness and the search for suitable solutions.
We believe a useful intervention is measured not only by the help provided, but also by the dignity preserved, the capacities strengthened and the new prospects it can open.
The President
A commitment driven by the conviction to act
